Introduction

As custodians to the Revospring community, we at Prometheus are dedicated to supporting the users of Revospring and providing them with an exciting experience on and off the platform. The “Revospring Games” represent our effort to provide our users with social experiences that help make Revospring a more entertaining and enjoyable community to participate in. Phase 1 of the Revospring Games is an art contest. We are commissioning our user base to help us design and develop the mascot of the Revospring platform: Spring!

While it would be extremely easy for us to generate AI art or find inexpensive artists on freelance sites to create something for us, we feel it is important to promote the artists within our own community. We know that a lot of the Revospring users (or users who are Revospring adjacent and never use the site) are extremely talented artists and it’s important to us that we give them an opportunity to help shape Revospring into something that represents that. So, we are asking our community to collaborate on designing our mascot and offering prizes to the winner of the art contest to reward them for their efforts.

Spring represents the heart of Revospring – constant questioning, learning, and discussion. She embodies the platform’s values of freedom, exploration, and open dialogue, always encouraging others to ask more, think critically, and share their ideas. Just like the platform, she’s a place where people can feel comfortable expressing themselves, exploring new concepts, and finding answers to their most curious questions.

Official Rules

  1. Eligibility:

    • The contest is open to all artists worldwide, regardless of experience level.
    • By submitting an entry, you confirm that you are the original creator of the artwork.

  2. Submission Guidelines:

    • Format: Submissions must be in digital format (JPEG, PNG, or TIFF).
    • Style: The mascot design should be anime-style and capture the character profile of Spring. Feel free to be creative, but keep the personality traits in mind (mischievous, curious, energetic, playful, etc.).
    • Color: You can use any color palette you feel works best, but the design should be vibrant and eye-catching. However, it’s vital that the color International Orange (#FF4F00 or rgb(255, 79, 0)) is prominently used in Spring’s design.
    • Background: A simple or no background is preferred. If a background is included, it should complement the character but not overpower her. For technical purposes, please be prepared to supply a version without a background.

  3. Originality:

    • All submissions must be original works. Plagiarism or use of copyrighted material will result in disqualification.
    • No character designs that have been used for other projects, platforms, or media.
    • The use of AI to generate a submission will result in immediate disqualification.

  4. Submission Deadline:

    • The contest will end on June 20th, 2025 (the end of spring). Late submissions will not be accepted.

  5. How to Submit:

    • Submit your entry via contest@revospring.net. Include your Revospring username, contact info, and any social media handles you would like to be credited by. (We respect your privacy and don’t need your IRL personal information. We just need enough information to contact you and deliver your reward.)

  6. Judging Criteria:

    • Submissions will be judged based on:
      • Creativity and originality
      • How well the design represents Spring’s personality
      • Technical skill and attention to detail
      • Overall aesthetic appeal
    • The winning design will be selected by a vote among the Revospring moderation team. In the event of a tie or other indecision, a vote will be held among the community members in Discord.

  7. Prizes:

    • The winner will receive:
      • A cash prize calculated with the following formula: $P = 50 + 10 * ln(5 * M) + 2 * S where P = Prize money, M = Members on the Revospring Discord, and S = total number of submissions entered into the contest (at the time of the end of the contest).
      • A gift of 1 year of access to Discord Nitro.
      • An invite to other communities of tangible value to be revealed at a later time.
    • The winning design will be used as the official mascot for Revospring. Credit to the artist will be provided in the website description and can optionally link to the artist’s portfolio, website, or profile.

  8. Rights and Usage:

    • By entering the contest, you grant Prometheus and the Revospring team the right to use your artwork for marketing, promotional, and branding purposes (including but not limited to websites, social media, and merchandise).

  9. Additional Rules:

    • Revospring reserves the right to disqualify any entry that does not comply with the rules or is deemed inappropriate. This includes (but is not limited to) low quality entries that are intended to abuse the submission system or illegitimately inflate the prize value.
    • Contest details may be subject to change at Revospring’s discretion.
